Printing on Edible Paper
If you are looking to add a little extra pizzazz to your next party, you may want to consider using edible paper. This paper can work as decorations or you can place it on a cake and have any desired image on the cake. No matter what picture you want on the edible paper, you are able to perform the process. You don’t need a special printer, but you do need the specialty paper and ink. Once all this is in place you are ready to begin creating your edible image.
To start, you need to purchase the material. It is often possible to buy these products from your local arts and crafts store, especially if there is a cooking or baking section. It is very important to not forget the edible ink. The last think you want to do is use standard ink and print your image, then have everyone dive in and discover the ink is not edible. When selecting the ink cartridges, make sure the products function in your printer. The cartridges are going to state what printer it works with, the same as any standard ink cartridge.
Remove the current ink cartridges from your printer and insert the edible ink, then slide in the edible paper into the printer and prep the printer for use. Open up the desired picture and select to print the object. When the printing options appear on the screen, select the number of images you want to create and the connected printer with all the edible products installed.
Once the document has finished printing, you need to give it some time to dry, as it does take a few minutes for the edible ink to sit in the edible paper. It is best to not fold the paper or perform any other action, as the paper may break, causing you to print off additional copies. It is best to print out one at a time, or at least remove each print from the printer as it comes out, otherwise the ink is going to smear.
